In the example, a master data relation is set up for a distribution of table 18 Customer from the database Dynamics. The data from company Master Data is transferred to company BE-Fashion. If there is already data in table 18 Customer, all data with the same primary key will be overwritten for the selected fields.
The fields Avoid Data Consistency Check and Decentralized Data are deactivated for this relation, i.e. no data may be inserted, modified or deleted in the company BE-Fashion in this example (see Relation Card).
Which data is to be transferred is defined by the lines of the master data relation. In the example, a distribution for seven fields is defined.
The field 1 - No. is always transferred as the primary key of table 18 Customer, even if it has not been defined.
The fields 2 - Name and 3 - Search Name have no additional properties and therefore cannot be changed in the target company. These fields are always in sync with the source company.
The property Remote field at field 4 - Name 2 implies that this field can be edited in the source company and is synchronized with the source company.
A substitution has been defined for field 21 - Customer Posting Group, which means that the field values are replaced according to a rule that has already been defined in the target company.
A check is necessary for field 21 - Customer Posting Group because the field has a relation to table 92, but this has not yet been created.
A check is also required for field 22 - Currency Code. The relation to Table 4 is missing here. In addition, field 22 - Currency Code is a currency field that must always be checked.
The last field is the field 7001 - Allow Line Disc.. The option Initial Field was set for this field, which means that the value of the field is set to the initial value when it is created and distributed.
The remaining fields that have not been defined can be edited individually for the source company and target company.
Attention: Changes to a relation can only be made if the relation is in the Open status. Records are only distributed when the relation is in the Released status.
